Step Up for Smart Works X Walk Works with Victoria Thornley

Olympic Medallist Victoria Thornley Leads Smart Works Reading's International Women's Day Walk

Smart Works Reading is launching its International Women's Day fundraising campaign "Step Up For Smart Works" with an inspiring 10,000-step walk through Reading town centre, led by Olympic Medallist and charity Ambassador Victoria Thornley. The launch event, organised in partnership with Walk Works, takes place on Tuesday, 4th March 2025, starting at 8:00 AM from Blue Collar Corner.

The guided walk will showcase Reading's historic and modern landmarks while kickstarting the month-long Step Up For Smart Works challenge. Throughout March, participants are encouraged to walk 10,000 steps daily while raising funds for Smart Works Reading's free interview coaching and dressing service for women.

"As an Ambassador for Smart Works Reading, I love getting involved in their campaigns," says Victoria Thornley. "Step Up for Smart Works is a great inclusive event. I encourage everyone to sign up and get involved either on their own or with a team of friends, family or colleagues."

Caroline Gratrix from Walk Works adds: "Reading has so many fascinating corners and hidden stories waiting to be discovered on foot. This collaboration with Smart Works Reading perfectly represents what we believe in - using walking to connect, inspire and support our community."
